Basilical church excavated at Halutza. Click to see larger photo (62K -- download time: 25 seconds over a 28.8 modem)

Excavated in 1998 and 2000, the church at Halutza was probably built in the middle of the 5th century CE and went out of use sometime in the first half of the 7th century. The structure finally collapsed in an earthquake ca. the mid 7th century or few decades later.
